No I do get it, there are a few things you don't get though.

I concluded I was not going to get any further at yesterday's meeting. maybe I was wrong. If anyone else did get further, no doubt they will be letting us know. I won't be waiting up.



The Montagu Evans report was clearly an attempt to bias the outcome of the valuation exercise. This appears to have failed but we are now seeing a rearguard action to resurrect it. A minority of the Conservators had disagreed with the firm to be appointed and the terms of reference drawn up by the majority. So they went off and got their own firm and drew up their own terms of reference.

Despite their best efforts, they couldn't convince their chosen firm to match their previous estimates of the value and had to settle on a figure of £1.9m. This was just a waste of £25,000. The report is valueless unless it and its terms of reference have the Board's support. Because of the manner in which it was obtained, it is valueless as a piece of evidence upon which to base a financial claim against any 3rd party. It would be laughed out of court. But Chantal has it if anyone wants to see it.

WPCC have an action plan which has been agreed with the Charity Commission and seem to be following it. As I said, I shall probably have some further questions when they have proper legal advice.
