Yes the crematorium collection is now at a reasonable time, but it took several years of complaints by local residents to get this to happen. Evidently the lorry called in the night to spare the feelings of local children at the sight of the yellow plastic bags being thrown in the back of a lorry. What a load of drivel and the council believed it. I have lived here since the late 90's and have only seen the handyman clean up on the pavement other than directly in front of the hospital about 5 times. If anyone spots him cleaning along Clarend Drive and Gamlen Road, please post on the Forum. It is an urban myth again believed by Wandsworth Council. "They do their best to keep residents happy" in what way? I hear they consider it best practice to send troublesome clients outside the building - in what way is that keeping residents happy. The fundamental problem is that the building which was given planning permission in the 1960s, is no longer fit for purpose. It has not kept up with the times like Battersea Dogs Home, which I understand even has soundproof kennels. The Putney animal hospital does not even have an adequate exercise area for the dogs that are kept in overnight and they have to be walked around the block. My own view is that the RSPCA need to find another premises for the dogs. Much of the Putney problems would be solved if they saw only cats and other animals, it is the dogs and their owners that are causing the problems on the pavement. |
