| Unfortunately the statutory planning application rules do not require the advertisement of applications on-line. The rules specify the insertion of notices in newpapers circulating in the area, direct notification by post to local residents, businesses and others and for site notices to be put up. If there is some procedural irregularity it may be possible to challenge the eventual decision through judicial review but I doubt a challenge wouls succeed because of a defective web-site. But let's hope this government keeps its promise to introduce a statutory right of appeal for the public. Then we might see some fairness enter the planning system at last. |
