| Ahem John, the article was not really about football but why the Netherlands has very recently included Israel on its list of foreign states that pose a threat to the country. Including efforts by Israel to manipulate Dutch public opinion and influence political decision-making through disinformation campaigns. One incident cited in the report involves a document circulated last year by an Israeli ministry to Dutch journalists and politicians through unofficial channels. The report claimed the document contained unusual and unwanted personal details about Dutch citizens, following tensions during a rally in Amsterdam of supporters of football team Maccabi Tel Aviv. Hopefully, that has cleared up your confusion. Thanks for the heads up on the success of the English Women's Football team; the only reason I didn't mention it is that it had nothing to do with the post and I am not able to predict the future. (the post was pre-match)....but let's not get bogged down in small details. |
