| My question was rhetorical in this case, Michael. I never doubted that Stephen Cottrell has a view on the conflict in Ukraine.. But what is his view? It would appear that he has taken Ukraine’s side, having called the Russian invasion ‘an act of evil’. He called for a day of prayer but, as far as I am aware, he has not called for an immediate ceasefire. This is presumably because a ceasefire I would leave Putin in control of the territory Russia has already invaded, not to mention the 20 000 children abducted by the Russians. But in the case of Gaza Stephen Cottrell has clearly taken the side of the Palestinians, having described Israel’s campaign ‘depraved’. In this case he has no qualms in calling for a ceasefire, even though it would leave a group of genocidal fanatics in control of Gaza, ready to repeat their massacre ‘again and again’. Apparently Jesus Christ, in whose name he presumes to speak, is in favour of peace in Gaza but not in Ukraine. |
