| That is a wholly disingenuous argument to defend the indefensible. Did not Burnham tell the voters of Makerfield that he would not revisit the issue of Brexit? Is he not minded to reconsider the UK rejoining the EU? How Burnham envisages rejoining, whether by an edict, or a second referendum or a manifesto commitment prior to an election, is irrelevant. The fact is that he lied to the electorate of Makerfield, which voted for Leave in the Referendum in order to win the seat and become Prime Minister. Why should anyone ever trust what he says in the future? |
