The Putney High School Travel Plan for 2008-2009 ( published Dec 2009) is included in the "view related documents" associated with planning application 2009/4194 (Wandsworth Council Planning Explorer website). It gives information on the percentages of students and staff travelling by different modes and the actions they intend to take to increase the percentages walking and cycling to school. As usual a high percentage of the juniors say they would prefer to travel by bike (39% - 121 students) but only 1% (4 students ) did. Apparently the Plan says that a full review and update would be done by March 2012. I wonder if it was done and how things have changed. I very much agree that more publicity should be given to the undesirability of using diesels in town and the incentives to increase their use (presumably originally on CO2 emissions) have backfired on urban air quality. It will be interesting to see when BMW launch their Olympic fleet in late April if they can convince us that the vehicles they will use on the Olympic Route Network  will be fit for purpose !
