I walked along URR earlier today (before 5pm) and counted only 7 workmen on the entire length of the roadworks. And only 2 of them were actually working! This is just not good enough - TfL get a grip and make the contractors work flat out to do the job as quickly as possible! I know Jim Maddan and other local councillors are on the case but I would urge them yet again to keep up the pressure. PS no cyclists on the pavement today - but a few police there to keep a watchful eye on things, Word is getting around! To answer an earlier question about why I don't like cyclists on the pavements. Two reasons: 1. it is illegal and 2. the more often cyclists flout the law the more ammunition this gives to those who would resist any efforts to improve conditions on our roads for them. I am a keen cyclist and don't want to be tarred with the same brush as the errant ones. |
