A planning application has been submitted to Wandsworth Council for the erection of a single-storey front extension to the animal hospital in Clarendon Drive. This will extend the reception and waiting area. We received a letter on Tuesday, 10th November from Wandsworth Council asking for our comments by 27th October. The letter was dated 6 October and posted 2nd class during a mail strike. I phoned Tabitha Lythe, the case officer at the council, to complain about lack of consultation. She went off to speak to someone and informed me the comments date would be extended to 25 November. She also said a notice appeared in the press, and also a notice was posted to the nearest lamppost but no-one seems to have seen either. If you look back over the planning history of this site, very few residents have ever been canvassed for their opinions on this site. We ask local residents to comment, particularly regarding the effect on demand for parking because vehicles displaced from the carpark will have to go somewhere else - Clarendon Drive & Gamlen Rd? The drawing submitted shows only 3 cars parked on the carpark, but does not show RSPCA vans or the large vans and lorries that service the premises. There can be 14 vehicles on the carpark. |
