| Thanks for making me aware of the meeting. I attended and raised the issue. The room was very supportive, and several people shared their own experiences of near misses at pedestrian crossings, which really underlined how common this is. The police were honest about the resource constraints theyre working under, and its clear their ability to act is limited. I believe this only starts to get addressed when the scale of the problem becomes too visible to ignore. Thats going to depend on people reporting incidents. Right now, the reporting process isnt clear, especially when it involves cyclists. Most people who try to report something will likely take one look at the form and give up. Thats a barrier we need to fix. Ive got a few ideas, but I need to check what Im actually allowed to do before moving forward. |
