I’m posting this as a local parent who’s becoming increasingly concerned. In Putney, cyclists running red lights has become a regular issue—something I think most people have seen. But this isn’t just happening on quiet roads: I recently had a cyclist weave through while I was crossing on the green man with my 4-year-old daughter. To be clear, cyclists are legally required to stop at red lights, just like any other road user. Ignoring them at pedestrian crossings isn’t just illegal—it’s dangerous. If you witness this kind of behaviour, it can be reported here: https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/rti/rti-beta-2.1/report-a-road-traffic-incident/ I’m sharing this in the hope it raises awareness and encourages others to speak up too. |
