| Hi Ed. Yes, the Dover House Estate is very much a link between Putney and Roehampton, as you say. I loved living in Huntingfield Road and the Dover House Estate. It took me a while to get used to it, having moved there in my late teens from the Argyle Estate along Wimbledon Parkside towards the end of the 1980s, but I truly came to see the Dover House Estate as my home and still miss it greatly. I agree with you about the area around Barnes Station late at night - I used to feel uneasy even back in the 1990s and early 2000s if I got off a late train there and walked up the path to the Upper Richmond Road - always used to get the feeling there was someone else around. Best to be vigilant around that area - I think your advice is very sensible - certainly for lone females but also for everyone. |
