As regards Ed’s comments about crime being on the increase during daylight hours, my experience of harassment is that men were always more brazen during the day, it just seemed more scary at night. Not London, but Bham, twice I was kerb crawled when I was young, in broad daylight. I was just walking along minding my own business. Twice I was physically assaulted in broad daylight in central London when I was a young woman. Once a woman just came up and punched me in a side road nr Oxford Circus and another time a girl kicked me in the back when I was going down some stairs at Edgware Rd tube station, I think it was, because I couldn’t give her directions, as I didn’t know them. My son’s girlfriend was punched in the face in a shop in Westfield Shopping Centre by another girl in the middle of the afternoon. Nothing done about it. Ed, are the incidents at Barnes station day and night? |
