Thanks for the reply, Ivonne. I was imagining you afraid to go out at 7.00 pm, which would be really sad. My memorable moment for being harrassed on the streets of SW15, was coming home late after meeting friends in town. I got off the tube at East Putney for the short walk to our home on URR and this bloke just not leaving me alone. I didn’t want to talk to him at all and hated the way he was walking closely at my side. I was getting a bit worried as we approached where I lived as I didn’t want him to know my address. Luckily my husband had decided to come and meet me (it was before we had mobile phones) and the bloke saw he was heading towards us, said I bet that’s your husband and dashed off. I am old now and don’t expect to be harrassed anymore on the street, but I had a horrible experience on the tube about 2 years ago. Chelsea were playing Man. Utd at home. About 5 Man Utd fans were in a group around me being loud and obnoxious, but as they got off they shouted abuse specifically at me. I hadn’t done anything at all except sit in my seat. |
