Ed, my friend came from Priest Bridge and myself off White Hart Lane. My friend would come from work get off at Barnes and walk down the dark path to Vine Road. This was in the 1960's. I walked with her once and was continually looking behind me it was so dark and all the bushes, would never walk down there on my own. Even after working at the weekends at the Hospital in the 70's I would not wait at the bus stop by the old Red Rover. As I had a weirdo ask me out, I walked so fast to Dover House Rd, to get a bus, I couldn't wait to get indoors.
