@Michael 13.54 "If she's a British Citizenship I can't see she can be stopped - I don't think under international law the UK can make her stateless." This is the trouble. Her status as a British citizen should have been revoked and her passport cancelled when she went to Syria specifically with the intention of becoming a Jihadi bride and to do her bit to support IS. "She must have broken several laws so presumably would be arrested immediately on returning. Given her actions, I can't see the UK has an obligation to assist her return. However, her unborn child is innocent, so perhaps should be helped?" Begum should be arrested immediately if she manages to get back. Not one penny of tax payers' money should be spent on her repatriation. If her family are concerned about the baby they can go to Syria and possibly be allowed to bring it back, but the family must bear the expense. Shamima Begum should stay in Syria in my opinion. No sympathy. |
