Too often, as a car driver or ped, I see cyclists enter a danger area like this, and then pootle at 1mph. Unsursprisingly, this both winds up the car/bus/cab driver, and confuses - should he wait or make a pass. If he goes for the pass, it may seem like bullying. But if you try to make decent speed through that space, he can see the delay is going to be much more appropriate, and will be much more likely to calmly follow (until he rejoins the end of the queue or finds a safer point to overtake. And of course, you're in that danger zone for much less time. Some drivers are always going to be bullying idiots. But seeing it from their angle you can do something different that will make it safer and more pleasant for your self (the same applies with every other combination of vehicles)
