I have been commuting by bicycle to the City for more than 15 years now. Obviously today there are many more cyclists than ever. Local councils have by and large only paid lip service to cyclists needs so far, no real investment has been made to accomodate us more safely on London streets. Some observations about roads and traffic: ASLs....what a joke, what is the point of these when the traffic pays no attention to them and encroaches fully in to them...and in central London this happens all the time. Clearly there is no law to enforce observation of ASLs Bus drivers must be the cyclists PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER 1. In my experience, they are positively hostile to cyclists and consequently extremely dangerous. Cyclists must be always be aware of this hostility and take neccessary precautionary measures Black Taxi drivers...in all my years cycling I do not have a bad word to say about them, definitely the best drivers on the roads and always alert to cyclists Mini cab drivers...in contrast are shockingly bad drivers and therefore very dangerous to cyclists Cycle lanes don't really work and in central London motorcyclists seem to think they have equal rights to them. Not very pleasant to chew on their exhaust fumes...Lower Thames Street heading west is the best example of this
