I cross Putney Hill at the end of St. John's Ave every morning in rush hour to take my child to nursery. And it's basically an accident waiting to happen. Despite there being a designated crossing point, there are no signs or markers to keep this crossing area clear of traffic and give pedestrians a chance of making it across safely. At least twice a week I'll be waved across by some kind soul in a car only to walk straight into the path of a speeding motorbike or pushbike bombing it down the hill on the blindside. Or at best I'll weave my way around the various stationary buses and cars, buggy-first, praying that everyone's seen me.  Given the propensity for speed bumps in every other road in Putney and zebra crossings in odd places (Oxford Road springs to mind) what are the chances of something to at least alert drivers as they crawl down Putney Hill that there are likely to be children crossing - a sign, a box junction, a lollipop lady... whatever??
