| In actual fact only raising the minimum wage was included in the Labour manifesto. The farm tax was not included and indeed before the election Labour shadow ministers said they had no plans to change inheritance tax reliefs for farmers. However a measure remains performative, regardless of whether it is included in a manifesto, if its aim is simply to win plaudits rather than achieve a worthwhile goal. |
