Out of interest what is the nearest primary school to where you live, Matt? Someone said to me if you think the competition for school places is bad at primary level, wait until your child goes onto secondary school. Presumably you will want your son to go to the best state secondary, he will have to compete with all the other extra pupils that places have been found for at primary school. Or are you going to go private? There may be enough places at secondary school level, but the demand is for a really good state secondary and even though parents live in Central Putney, they cannot get their children into Ashcroft which has the outstanding Ofsted report. Elliott is on special measures and you can really feel parents despair as they have to put their houses on the market. By the way, is this free school to meet the demand for school places for Thamesfield children or to meet the demand for places for Putney children? I guess it is the latter. If so, how about expanding some of the other Putney schools in the same way Hotham is taking in more children? |
