There was an article in the "Sunday Times" yesterday about free schools, in particular the one proposed for the old Bolingbroke hospital. The lack of enough good secondary schools in Wandsworth was mentioned. I quote Fiona Phillips of t.v. fame who is backing the new Bolingbroke "I hope they will not become enclaves where pushy, middle class people send their children because they do not want them to mix with less well-off children." Can anyone tell us how the children will be selected for the proposed new school: - eg on proximity or do the parents running the new school choose who goes there? |
