Matt try All Saints Primary Putney Common which must be as near - like most of our Putney primary schools - brilliant. Surely what West Putney needs more is a smaller senior school (11-18) with the emphasis on small. Many local children are either bused miles or parents hock themselves to the hilt to pay privately. I am not sure on the free scheme however until I know more about it. Obviously parents do not pay but I think the free relates to the structure of lessons and type of school. Apparently the free schools in Sweden allow the students to organise their own time so some students only attend a few hours a day. For seniors this is fine but 11-13 yrs olds? I know for a fact that if I offered that to mine when they were at that age it would have been chaos! However it depends how the school is set up and structured. Leadership from a really good headteacher in my experience leads to a good school. |
