Yes Bunny. I think events like this help put into perspective the puny power of man to effect the changes claimed to the natural order. I know it is now seen as "heresy" by some to doubt the extent of mankind’s role but the case for manmade global warming remains unproven with much unexplained and conflicting research. Despite main stream media propaganda and politicians who are grabbing their chance to tax us more (for the greater good), there are still plenty of sceptical (open minded) scientists about. The Gaia theory suggests the earth follows discreet cycles or rhythms and that nature balances itself over time. This is the premise I tend toward rather than rely upon those of the Al Gore's of this world. In terms of global warming, the cooling effect caused by the volcanic dust reflecting sunlight may be offset by the gases that are also being emitted.

A report I heard earlier suggested that this volcano may continue pumping material into the upper atmosphere for the next 6-8 weeks. Of course, wind direction will determine which flight corridors are closed and when. It has been and will continue to be inconvenient for travellers but enjoy while you can.
