| I am absolutely baffled by the question. Not because you ask it, but the media is full of it. We have just had local elections. At these elections I vote for the party I think will be able to provide best local solutions to local problems (rubbish collections, clean streets, social care, to name a few issues). The Councillors have no power to change national policies! In view of this, why is everybody considering local elections as a referendum on the PM? By-elections are a different matter as it relates to constituencies, but why is the result in Putney considered a reflection of national politics? Why would anybody vote on matters such as immigration as the councillors and/or the Council have no influence on this? |
