That Lennox build puzzles me a little. Not because the properties are not needed but ( if its the green area I'm thinking of) i thought it was land not to be built on.
Many years ago David Mellor supported  the residents to stop a developer building on a green area on the Lennox.in the end the land was passed to the housing dept with a caveat that they could not build on it in the future.
It could be a different location on the estate though there are very few greens on the estate. If its the same area one must assume the  Council have used planning powers to cancel the restriction.
