I haven't read about the housing plan and you haven't provided a reference so I'll ignore that. However, the term "RNLI Uber" is untrue and a slur on that great UK and Irish institution and its volunteers. I had the opportunity to speak to one of the Border Force personnel at a security event back in September - he was displaying a drone and I asked him if I could take a picture of it; he was fine with that, and I also got a complimentary Border Force pen! We discussed the process and the Border Force will use drones and other aerial surveillance measures to monitor boats approaching the UK waters and shores so they can rendezvous with them and pick up anyone landing without the correct documentation. If boats get into trouble the coast guard are responsible for exacting a rescue. As is the usual procedure, if lives are likely to be lost and the coast guard can't deal with it then the RNLI are called to effect a rescue to save lives. Perhaps check your facts before making false accusations about the RNLI. Perhaps you should make a donation to them to compensate for your slur? |
