Thanks Matt Thanks for that insight. Well when the going gets tough here - it's back to the three bean soup! Our meat and two veg is easily outclassed by Italian and lots of other Mediterranean food both here and abroad which has far more Vegan and Vegetarian options. Interestingly we used to eat a lot more dried beans here in this country once and old recipe books show this. There was an interesting Guardian article yesterday on the uplifting effect of broad beans - which we can find frozen but hardly ever see in the shops. We grew them in the garden and I was always fascinated when podding them in what wonderful padded pods the beans sat in. |
