| Why not find a way to tie your bin to the bin so that it cannot be easily separated? My fear has always been that my bin lid would be lost. I tied the lid to the bin with tough twine and then chained the bin to the boundary wall. It seems to work. The operatives lift the lid and then take the black bag out when there is one there. We've reduced so there isn't always one. We now have much more recycling - since so much can be recycled kerbside. Admittedly they don't always put the lid right back on but usually do. I think with several operatives working the street they often leave the lid off to show that they have been and don't revisit the same bins. |
