and slugs and snails! The word 'mandatory' is used about Councils providing a weekly food waste collection. Food waste collections are also now being rolled out to businesses in various places. The Deposit Return System we have been waiting for so long is also mentioned... yet again... together with more restrictions on single use plastic items... and vapes... and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for waste. Remember the kerbside recycling collections provided by Councils are just the Councils' collections and there are other ways and other businesses that will recycle even more BUT recycling is at the bottom end of the waste hierarchy and Reducing Refusing Reusing Repairing Repurposing etc are all higher up that hierarchy. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/simpler-bin-collections-for-england-to-boost-recycling |
