Re: asbestos, M&S seem perfectly happy to let people shop at their Marble Arch store, as I think the store is still open?, even though Asbestos is present. If demolition were to go ahead, you can’t just demolish the building and let the asbestos be released into the air, especially in such a densely populated area and what about the construction workers? Asbestos has to be removed before demolition. Presumably the asbestos doesn’t currently pose a risk because it is intact and hasn’t been damaged in any way. This would mean it’s removal is perfectly straight forward for asbestos removal experts, whatever scheme goes ahead. |
