Or it might be helpful for the WPCC to tell levy payers instead? Just a thought. If 50% of the the path is going to be covered in concrete for a considerable length, to facilitate a 3.6m high wooden fence to be erected along its length, isn’t is reasonable for the WPCC to explain? The Conservators have a legal duty to protect the common, to keep it natural and unenclosed. If they are to allow the commons to be enclosed and covered in concrete and 3.6m high fences, why not explain up front. Barn Elms are getting a very substantial investment for providing the Thames Tunnel corner for the 6m wide shaft which will connect to the main tunnel. Do Thames Tunnel need to take the pathway, and if so what advice do the WPCC have to protect their position? Are the WPCC getting a payment for providing the land, or is this another of their many cosy, under the radar deals that they are so very fond off. I am aware of the Communtiy Liason Group which is a Thames Tunnel initiative. The WPCC could do with taking some lessons from Thames Tunnel R Us on communication. |
