A very good point Matt. Considering Putney High Street is like a valley. Six to twelve stories would make the High St a poisonus place. Like it's not already one of the worst areas in London for air pollution [wait until Heathrow gets its third 'killer' runway] I shall send my comments in Patricia thanks. Your post covered so much in a clear & concise manner. Stuart Kings website is well worth a visit. His piece on Housing was exceptional. SSAD is quite an apropiate abreviation for dis policy of inconsiderate planning I.E. only 1/2 bedroom flats. The fact buying one of these flats would need one to have an income of 100k minimum & these are the 'affordable ones' Laws that state the need for open spaces if children are to live in the building....The fact balconys can now count as a garden. Put a gym in the plans & that will avoid the need for Open Spaces where one can do recreation. No mention of the fact these gyms are not free and you'd hardly take a picnic there! So in my mind dis Spatial Space Swoping [SSS] is a touch suspect. ps   Spatial Space Swopping SSS is a Chilliosophy term used to describe exactly wot it say's ! We need to look at how National/Local Buildings Policy has meant dat the government [Thatcher started it] has looked to the private sector to take care of providing housing needs. How dis farce of a policy called 'Affordable Homes' just doesn't 'cut the mustard.' Every one of these new buildings is a private sector development. The fact offices as places of local employment are no longer needed. Since these apartments are for people who get their employment by working in the city. So Wandsworth don't cater for jobs. You can live here [Wandsworth] but work....'On yor bike' it's only six miles to employment Central London. Yet from wot I've seen they're doing exactly the same in Central London. Turning Office Space over to accomodation..Gotta go thnks to everyone & I'm gonna look into dis a bit more ltr. 'all have a good day
