Good post Richard. The Halifax have now introduced this absurd policy of charging people who are overdrawn a blanket one pound a day if their account is in the red from £5 to £2,700 and £2 a day if their overdrawn from £2,700 to £5,500. It works out that a pound a day is what one would pay if they were £2,700 overdrawn and likewise two pounds a day equates to being £5,500 overdrawn.... So for people who have relatively low overdrafts das an absurd amount of interest i.e. £100 overdrawn will cost one £28 a month! The only solution for account holders is to switch to a Premier Current Account dat costs £12 a month. For dat one has a £550 free overdraft facility apart from other benefits. Well to me das no solution. But try & open an account elsewhere & you'll find unless one is able or willing to put a minimum of £1,000 a month into one's current account. Then the bank is not interested or willing to let a customer open an account. Bankers have so much to answer for. These latest bonuses could be based on how much certain banks managed to extort from the government. Ounce Brown opened the Treasury coffers to The Bank of Scotland other banks presented their books in such a way as to get maximum payouts. Bankers came with Cap in hand & Brown poured so much of our money into their palms. Consequently everyone is gonna suffer. Except the banks bonus scheme lol. Wot a mess. A market created & based on credit with little else; like manufacturing to back dat market up means it's all an illusion. China is making and we is buying, das about it..Governments used to protect their market economy. Not anymore it's a free for all with the earth being laid bare & no amount of rhetoric will help whilst we carry on letting the world be run from a purely business & profit perspective. PFI's...Wot a rip off. Have y'all seen the figures for Roehampton Hospital and the gov refuses to acknowledge the true cost. Wanting to extend the Rip Off policy to education; whilst not including the cost of paying for these PFI's in the Health/Education budget. Another aspect of life in Putney our MP Justine would should could look at; being an accountant who better to let us the people know if we are getting a five star service or a five star rip off? Ouch..Sumone just took my stool away! Y'all have a good rant I'm getting laid in an hour, so better do some chanting; say a few Hail Mary's altho das not her name! |
