| Good News After months of negotiation with the NRA, as from Monday 23rd July 2007, the river taxi run between Putney and Blackfriars, by Thames Executive Charters has been doubled with two extra services in the morning, leaving Putney Pier at 8am and 9.10am. The boats will stop five minutes later at Wandsworth Riverside Quarter, and arrive at Blackfriars 40 minutes after leaving Putney. There will be additional services in the evening. Timings will be dependent on demand. Surveys are being carried out with those using the service Full details will be available on their website at www.thamesexecutivecharters.com/rivertaxi, and on the councils own website at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/river The council fully support this expansion in the river taxi service and see it as a valuable resource for the people of Putney and Wandsworth, contributing to a reduction in the numbers of commuters using the already overcrowded buses and trains. Congratulations to Thames Executive Charters |
