| The notice posted on the WRQ pier suggests that services are planned from 1st May at 8am and 9am from Putney pier and possibly also from WRQ pier. The viability of operating the service depends on people using it therefore if the take up is good, there will be a more persuasive case for increasing the number of boats stopping at both piers at other times of the day. There are already more regular services from Chelsea Harbour. The commuter service can rely on regular users. The possibility of TfL operating boats is also being pursued - the current river taxi service is run by a private operator. The boat isn't crowded in the same way as the tube and rail services at rush hour. |
