| The leisure trips are generally trips up the river and back with no intermediate stops. I suspect that the demand for sightseeing trips beginning and ending in Putney would be limited compared to Westminster. In terms of leisure usage, the Thames at Putney is already very heavily used by rowers and to a lesser extent sailors. Go down to the Embankment from 7-12 in the morning at weekends or 4-9 in the evening during the week (especially now the clocks have gone forward) to see what I mean. Generally speaking, the different groups of river users manage to co-exist peacefully, and the Thames Regional Rowing Council has recently been working closely with the PLA to ensure that everybody better understands the rules and each others needs. |
