You point out rightly that the US already has a military base in Greenland which one might assume plays a key part in its economy.

Also, how come Greenland is 'part of Denmark' ?

Sounds a very imperialistic claim on behalf of what I thought was a liberal social democracy.

Who would suffer apart from a few penguins if our NATO ally and our ultimate protector from Chinese and Russian aggression gained further control over and presence in what is a strategic piece of land mass ?

Genuine military protection is real: NATO Articles are just  pieces of paper.

Surely a deal could be struck with Trump for the US to lease  it from Denmark if necessary.

The greater a US military presence relatively close to our shore the better the UK's security.
