As Steven pointed out, there is already a US base in Greenland, and as a part of Denmark Greenland is a member of NATO and, hence, already protected by all NATO members under the terms of Article 5. Most Greenlanders probably consider that adequate under the existing agreement that the word of their US ally cannot be relied on. Or is it being suggested the US cannot be relied on to honour its agreements? |
