Quite agree, Steven. Apparently the US has reduced its staff at the Greenland NORAD base to around 150, so I'm sure the rare earth minerals in Greenland must be the main driver. Also, is the ice really melting if climate change is a hoax as Trump claims? Whose naive enough to believe his ramblings that are so contradictory? Also, I see Exxon is not convinced about investing in Venezuela's oil industry. (I suppose another aim here is to block China's access but I guess they'll just take more Russian oil.) I also heard Trump was worried about having Russian ships using Greenland's waters and being so close to the US. Hasn't he noticed Russia's just across the water from Alaska? Trump et al should be focusing on the real risk to the Earth but they're just too selfish. China must be laughing as it moves towards renewable energy BYD has now overtaken Tesla in the EV market. Anyway, I can't see the events in Minneapolis and Portland will endear Greenlanders to becoming part of a violent government rather than the peaceful Danes. |
