All this talk about extra flights needed to keep London as an important city centre is rubbish.

Airport owners want two things:
1.  More flights = more landing fees.
2.  More passengers = more shopping opportunities in airport terminals.

Think about who is lobbying for these expansions ... airlines??   or BAA and other airport owners??
