It looks as if a little of the pavement on the opposite side of the road will be taken away, and the taxi rank reduced. Whether or not this means that there will be more 'road space' to make allowances for the loss of layby, I don't know. They could take more of that pavement away on the opposite side to balance out the increase outside the station. It does get very congested outside the station at times, but I agree that it looks as if it will make the traffic horrendous when the buses stop there to change drivers. I never really understood why they change there when there's the terminus at the top of the hill at the Green Man and the bus station in Chelverton. The plans show they want to remove the 'bus control box' too. |
