Thanks to you both for this info. I found it rather strange that I paid for an item and received a compliments slip with a handwritten order number on it in return, rather than the usual receipt, after all I paid by debit card. This has happened to me before in this store, when the items I have bought have not been in stock and have to be ordered/delivered from their catalogue. The item itself is faulty and there was no paperwork with it, as there should have been.  If I buy from them again, in such a manner, I am going to insist on a receipt.
