Hugh Thompson makes the same points that occured to me. As this is only phase 2, those of us who walk to PHS but use the 430 when returning with shopping are going to be inconvenienced for MUCH MUCH longer than Oct/nov when the works proceed at a snail's pace further along URR, whenever that is. I too was puzzled by the project manager's assurance that he was talking to Richmond Council. Could someone, Leslie perhaps, please encourage him to send another letter explaining why, and what they told him. Still, I've had a few laughs walking along Howards Lane. There are a few of those red signs you see at road works saying SLOW and another saying keep to the 30 mph speed limit. How about the immediate introduction of a 20 mph limit in the area? As for cyclists, they continue to be a scary menace. I feel safer walking in the road. |
