Valid comment Sue ! I do not own a Motor Car, only using Public Transport or Walking ! I have experience of pushing a Manual Wheelchair for Physically Disabled People ! I was taught the correct techniques for going up & down kerbs with a person seated in the Wheelchair ! I am sure that you know these ! I am physically strong & I found it difficult to get up & down kerbs when I had been pushing the Manual Wheelchair for an extended period of time ! My Physical Strength had been sapped with all the effort involved in pushing (constantly stopping & starting) a Manual Wheelchair ! You have my sympathy ! Regards, Roger Lee PS. There was a Major Hotel Chain's Courtesy Coach parked across the dropped kerb outside this Hotel in Brighton, East Sussex, when I was pushing a Physically Disabled Person in a Manual Wheelchair, when I was a Volunteer for the 'Winged Fellowship' Charity back in 1996 ! I managed to negotiate the raised kerb & I pushed the Physically Disabled Person into the foyer of this Hotel & I made a verbal complaint at the Front Desk, with the Physically Disabled Person in the Manual Wheelchair alongside me ! With my point made I then departed from the Hotel !
