Hi I've been looking on the net but haven't found an answer yet. My neighbours are having their house gutted, and the work done has been excessively loud the last two days. It's almost as if a pneumatic drill is being used in the room and the noise is INCREDIBLE! My ill mother is staying with me and, as she's bedbound it's driving her mad. Can't use the phone, watch TV, listen to the radio etc. Her ears are buzzing because of the noise. She actually went out in her nightie and shouted at the workmen at one point. Is there some sort of way we can either get the workmen to limit the noise to a certain time of day? or what? It's really frightful - never heard anything like it. Have they the right to infringe that sort of noise on one? The decibels must be way above what's allowed. |
