Oh dear, or should I say deer!! Yes, a lot of the traffic is through traffic. I enter Roehampton Gate, choose whichever way I wish to go to reach Pembroke Lodge.... Through traffic indeed! And yes, I go through Richmond Park once a week to go to Richmond and it is absolutely bliss - no speeding by cars (but yes bikes but shhhhhhhh do not say it too loud!), the deer are totally relaxed, some of them actually feeding lying down next to the road!! Cars - they are oblivious to them, walkers however, startle them. Richmond Park is a very big park and, should you wish to go from Sheen Gate to Pembroke Lodge but have mobility problems, I am sorry to say you will not be able to get there unless you cycle - or ride perhaps. If you can do neither, goodbye Pembroke Lodge! Fantastic news all round! |
