Dear TFL Freedom of Information Enforcement of “virtual barrier” Intersection of Dryburgh Road / Upper Richmond Road, Putney, SW15 I understand from Wandsworth Council that TFL installed cameras to enforce the “virtual barrier” at the above junction, a no entry in both directions between 7am and 10am from Monday to Friday. The cameras were apparently installed in late May 2016, however drivers continue to ignore the restriction and hundreds of cars access / egress each morning in contravention of the restriction. This morning two traffic officers from the Metropolitan Police were also enforcing the barrier, stopping errant motorists and issuing penalties. This appears to be a duplication of the camera enforcement, assuming that the cameras exist and are being used. Under the FOI regulations can you please confirm; 1. Are there cameras installed at the junction, ie from late May 2016 2. How many fixed penalty notices have been issued since the cameras were installed? A daily total would be helpful, to see if the number of tickets is falling, week on week. 3. The total revenue collected under the camera enforcement of the “virtual barrier” Thanks for your help and I look forward to your response John Cameron |
