| Just had an email from the school with a letter from TfL saying a camera will soon be operating here issuing penalty notices. Letter text below if you're interested 23rd May 2016 Dear All saints School, Wandsworth council has identified your School as a user of Putney Leisure Centre, Transport for London (TfL) want to inform you that there will be Camera Enforcement of the Banned turn from Upper Richmond Road into Dryburgh Road between 07:00-10:00 Monday to Friday. The restrictions that prohibit access by motor vehicles from Upper Richmond Road into Dryburgh Road date back to 1976, and were until 2014 enforced by a physical barrier that was opened and closed by Wandsworth Borough every morning to prevent access between 07:00-10:00 Monday to Friday. When the physical barrier was removed it was replaced by electronic timed no entry signs implemented by the Borough. The removal of the physical barrier has lead to vehicles entering Dryburgh Road from Upper Richmond Road by either making a right or left turn depending on direction of travel. Wandsworth Council has approached TfL to assist in preventing access to Dryburgh Road at the restricted time by carrying out Camera Enforcement of the Banned turns from Upper Richmond Road. TfL have applied for and obtained the necessary DfT authorisation to allow the display of the hours of operation of the banned movement so that signage will inform road users adequately of what is prohibited and when. Due to the timed nature of this restriction and the period of time when this location has effectively not been enforced it has been considered as appropriate to have a warning notice campaign at this location before PCN’s are issued. TfL will carry out a warning notice campaign planned to commence 25/05/2016 and this will run for a period of two weeks. Just for clarification there is no change to the restriction that has been in place since 1976 it just that this will now be enforced by camera |
