| Close to home (Ruvigny Gardens then) I was approached by a man, short, forties, with the line “My van’s broken down round the corner, wouldn’t have a jack I could borrow would you?” and to the (no doubt expected) negative response it was then “Any chance of borrowing £2 so I could get to work.?” Odd thing was in the space of a couple of years he appeared three times with the same line in the same place. You would think he would take a different route if his van kept breaking down there, wouldn’t you? |
